I like green.

The my pinky nail is really oddly shaped, I apologize.
They look like little green bubbles :)

What's your favourite colour?
Mine's either dark red, or orange.

Poinsettia

I have commitment issues.
I'm working on them though.

So it's not super creative.
I just wanted to do something with sparkles :)

Oh! Wanna know something amazing?!
A few weeks ago, when I was helping my family take down the Christmas ornaments...
I FOUND THIS.
Not the best quality photo, and my nails were horribly chipped.
But HOLY SHIT.
This is my one of my brother's tree ornaments.
Now I know why I kept thinking "spaceship" whenever I looked at my nails.
It's as if all of life makes sense now.
I still can't get over this.
The colours are so alike too!

Christmas Spaceship?

This is really simple, I know.
I wanted to test out my new silver nail polish!
It goes on pretty thick, but I love it :)
For some reason this makes me think of a spaceship. A lot.
It's bothering me, like some weird sort of deja vu.
Arrrrrrrg.

Candy Cane

More holiday nails for you.
I love candy canes.
This is completely unrelated, but I have a dailybooth account;  if I don't blog for an extended period of time it is to blame.

It's Time to Light the Lights!

Poor blog, I have been neglecting you of late.
At least Christmas break is two days away!
I PROMISE to blog more!

Lately the idea of Christmas has really been getting on my nerves, I will not let this post turn into a rant though.
At least the lights are pretty!  It's especially nice to see when it's dark 20 hours a day...

I hope everyone is enjoying the hap-happiest time of the year!
I say that with only the slightest bit of sarcasm.

Frankenstein's Monster?

Manicures are so much easier now that I've started using a small paint brush, instead of the tip of a needle! haha

I really love this one actually, I might try it again for a quilt-y effect some time...

Haloweeee'eeeen!

I've been gone for forever, and for this I am very sorry.
I wont waste your time with excuses though.

Hallowe'en is my favourite holiday!
I had so many nail ideas that I wanted to try out, I couldn't choose!

So I did them all!!! YAY.

Frankenstein's monster would be more visible if I had used a lighter green...
The vampire teeth were the most difficult, and the ghost was obviously the easiest :)
I hope someone recognizes the famous movie scene on my thumb nail...!

Which one do you like the best?

Qimmusiq

Hey people!

I'm leaving tomorrow for the Canadian Jr. Curling Nationals!  I won't be back for 10 days (missing a lot of school :)
This is the manicure I will be wearing to show off my northern pride (and polishing skills) to the other teams.  They are coming from all across Canada, I'm so excited to meet everyone!

I am also entering the mani in the "Show Us Your Country" contest that Parokeets is hosting.  The chalange is to make either nail art or makeup art (or both) to show your own perception of your country.  I'm excited to see everyone elses country manicures (especialy other people's different takes on Canada!)

I chose to show my favourite part of Canada, the North!  It's a dogsled team :) oh! that's what Qimmusiq means by the way, it's Inuktitut for "dogsledding" (and yes, I did have to use a dictionary to find that :)

I'm actually really happy with how this turned out, hope you guys like it!

OK, wish me luck!
And if you find yourself in the Calgary area this week, why not drop on by and watch some curling? You can find the schedule here.

Checkers

My exams are over! I had my english exam on wednesday and my french exam today, both are exams that you don't really have to study for, so I didn't get stressed out at all!  Just this year my school introduced this new thing where you are allowed to exempt one exam per semester (there are some restrictions though, obviously), I exempted my social studies exam so that I wouldn't have to study :) .  Now that exams are over I have a whole week of nothing, yay!

Anyway, here are some checkered nails, checkers are always fun and are pretty easy to do...

Tyger! Tyger!

This mani was inspired by my absolute favourite poem right now: "The Tyger",  by William Blake and by the novel Life of Pi Yann Martel, two works that we just finished studying in English.

Sorry the black lines aren't that neat on some of the nails, I don't have a tiny brush (must pick one up next time I go down south...) so these were done with the tip of a needle :)

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright,
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

If you know any good poems you should tell me! PLEASE! I've become a little addicted to poetry lately :P
